So, chances?

Your stats are far above the average student, and so unless you really screw up, you should easily get in

Guess I should answer your other questions as well

Double majoring is easy - even many of the "dumb" kids can easily do it. SU's academic program is very light in my opinion - liberal arts majors are required to do 30 credits (10 courses).

Newhouse journalism & communications is very very good - I work at the university's student-run newspaper, and they are some very smart and interesting people. I wish all SU students were as intelligent. The program has excellent professors who frequently work with students outside of the classroom on academic and non-academic pursuits; a very dedicated bunch. It is one of the best in the country, and as far as my understanding goes, rightly so.

i know of syracuse's reputaiton in journalism and how its like, tops in the country

how hard is it to get into the journalism school?

in no particular order:
Journalism students are expected to double major or at least take up a minor.
10% acceptance rate (but I don't think it's really a self-selecting applicant pool).
Everyone's different, of course, so it's difficult to say what's expected. I think the average gpa is 3.8 and people say the SATs should be in the 1300's (so on the new scale aim for 2000+, because your writing score should be high- you're fine there).
Newhouse is put in the top three J-schools by anyone who knows. Mizzou and Northwestern are its companions. Columbia has a great grad school, but their undergrad program is only a year old. Newhouse is generally considered the best for broadcast (the alumni list is pretty impressive!).
You seem like a great kid in good shape for the whole college process. Best of luck & enjoy summer (ya know, those few months before the worry lines start forming).

Why are you worrying about getting in... Syracuse has the best communication school in the nation yes, but why are you paranoid... No need.

is the 3.8 weighted or unweighted?
