No... it yields HCO3- not CO2.

dude.....i am just tripping out about tomorrow. ill probably do fine, but im still nervous.

can form both - what if it's a basic soln, are you going to expect an acidic product to spontaneously appear?

I'M SCREWED... yeah... i took general chem in 10th grade... its been 2 years and i have no clue what to do.. *sighs... i feel so stupid getting stumped reading the prep book... did i mention i havent studied at ALL and spent all last week studying for physics and bio and taking calc and french and english>..... damn.... i thought it was gonna be just memorizing... but apparantly theres also "understanding"...

im getting like 50 percent on the mc, but that's totally stretching my brain cells... im afraid tomorrow i wont have enough brain cells left for the FR. at least the MC has a answer sitting there infront of u and u can guess, but i cant like make up an answer for the FR

After doing some REAL practice tests not that barrons crap i think i may be in line for a 4

I'm just a little confused about ligands and complex ions. How do you figure out the cordination number? they are usually 2 4 or 6 but how come its Co(H20)6 not Co(h2o)4

Some of the coordination chemistry stuff is memorization unfortunately. However, a general rule about the number of ligands is to multiply 2 by the charge of the cation.

If I finish PR tonight, is a 5 within reach?

(Humor me and say 'yes.')

Pretty please? I'm hecka starting to feel existential about this test. Omgaaaah. Maybe I should cancel... Maybe I should pretend I have a funeral to go to tomorrow and take the form B on the 20th? No, that would probably be too late. Meh.

Do we need to know how to balance redox reactions in basic solution? I always screw those up!

I don't know bout' that but go to this website it has good review for anyone in need of a cram session www.chemmybear.com

Is the MC really considered hard?? Because I got 60/75 right on the official 2003 MC without any studying, plus I made about 5 stupid mistakes (like ionization energy problems and stuff). I'm hoping for 65-70 right on MC and 60%-70% on FR, so that should definitely be a 5, right?

hell yes thats a five lol :)

when applying to college can you report some ap exam grades that you do well on and hide the ones you're not prepared for? i made the mistake of signin up for ap chem too while not actually taking the ap class, and i'm not expecting to do well.

yeah i think so, but you'll have to pay a nominal fee. Or you know you could just not take the test tomorrow. They refund you fully before you open your testing packet.

well they usually have acidic solutions, but you can balance a basic one with H+ and H2O just like you balance an acidic one.

a lot of people say the PR book is better than barron's... but how are they different? i'm using barron's and i'm almost done reading it. kinda nervous now that i'm hearing barron's is bad

the info in there is good but the practice tests are appx 3X harder than real AP Chem test LOL!

ok so basically barron's just shatters my confidence level before the test so that i'll whiz through the real exam and feel good afterwards... haha

Argh, the only thing I am struggling to remember is how to tell if a reaction is first or second order. Help please!
