I have so far gotten a rejection from Xavier, VCU, University of Cincinnati, and John Carroll or University of Dayton has not sent me anything.......then I have Rice, Brown, and Drexel, which are 1000 times harder.....It's kinda sad that I probably won't get into any bs/md programs, but oh well.....I know what it takes to get into these programs, and I am gonna work my butt off in college to get a good GPA and good MCAT score, and I will have awesome ECs to show that I am devoted to a career in medicine.....So this is me signing off from this thread pretty much....good luck to all of you!

you'll get an interview for drexel cuz i did and im stupid (btw its not a great program, u have to get a 30 on your mcat)...i got rejected from xavier (screw them!!), i got an interview for cincinnati tho, BUT i think dayton and john carroll are relatively easy to get into, soo there is hope!! whats your stats

Don't worry. The VAST MAJORITY of med students did not go to BA/MD Programs. Just do well in college, stick to your dreams, have fun, and you'll have more, better choices than going through a BA/MD Program.

Honestly, I'm beginning to think BA/MD Programs are more beneficial to the schools than the students because the schools get exceptional students who would otherwise probably make it to even better medical schools

Look at it this way: It's not a loss, but rather more opportunity and choice.

mikespan32, you are correct for only some programs. 1 in 5 pre-meds who apply to med school apply to Northwestern, what is Northwestern gaining by accepting 50 kids who will bring down its average GPA? Usually the most prestigious programs are fighting for their own existence as medical schools like Rochester, Baylor, Northwestern, UCSD, Case Western, UPitt, University of Alabama, Wisconsin, arent suffering from lack of talent in their application pools, one look at www.mdapplicants.com will reveal this.

Man I feel for you; I got rejected from USC's bac med...makes me have no chance for Brown's PLME. Ah well, life goes round and it doesn't mean it's not the end of medical dreams.

usc ba/md is very competitive, especially out of state; how did you receive ur notification? i have a feeling i got rejected as well

Oh I'm in-state and I received it by mail.

yeah i got rejected ba/md at usc too....i know of....3 people who got rejected in the last 2 years from there....2 of them went to northwestern, and the other was accepted to penn state/jefferson and went to ucsd's 7 year program ....

dear bharath2007 -- i thought the gpa's of ba/md people at northwestern was not counted towards the us news rankings.. or are they?

Either way they are indirectly lowering their average by not accepting someone with higher GPA/MCAT.

aw it's ok neelesh!

don't get too down on yourself; you will do super awesomely wherever you go : )

lol. thanks you guys....I am hopin to get the full ride at University of Pittsburgh (I'm a semifinalist).....then I will have something to look forward too....

With a name like neelesh you can't go wrong...

lol yeaa you are like the "esh-daddy"
