Have you ever put yourself out there for an election and were sure that you would win, only to be slightly crushed when you find out other people didn't seem to think so?

Happened to me today lol. It wasn't one of my major activities and the position wasn't that great, but still, it would have been nice to have that leadership role. I dunno, i guess it just wasn't meant to be. Any similar experiences (or maybe here on CC everybody wins every election they go for!)

I was running for class vice-president and one of my friends was running for president with me. All the other candidates were walking around passing out candy and we thought that was kind of gay, so we passed out condomns saying "be safe, vote for...". He went a little too far and super-imposed a picture of himself over a trojan picture (we were actually to cheap for trojans) and put it on people's lockers, which got him kicked out. He wasn't done, however, so we convinced a TON of people (973 person class) to write his name in on the bottom for prez and me for vice, but he also had someone sneek into a classroom where there were like 20 votes and changed them. He got caught, so all votes with my "running-mate"'s name on them weren't counted, and since pretty much everyone who voted for him also voted for me, half my votes weren't counted and I lost the election. I was mad, but I have a lot of other leadership so its okay.
