Sooooo after being a straight-A student, I just had too many honors/AP courses to handle my first semester senior year. Not to mention stress with the family, college stress, etc.

Consequently, I got not one, not two, but THREE B's, in AP Physics, AP AB Calc, and Honors Statistics (Which is debatable. The teacher hated me, I wouldn't be surprised if he did something screwy with my grade.)

Will colleges look down on this now? Will they think I was slacking? I know that ordinarily, 3 B's wouldn't matter, but the fact that I had a perfect GPA and suddenly dropped so much worries me. I really did the best I could :-(

I don't know, I'm just sad. Is there any way I can make this up? Or something? Gah :-(

Would it help to write a letter of explanation? Or, get a letter from the 3 teachers? Or ask you school counselor if they have any suggestions? Good Luck.

i'm probably going to be in the same boat as you.

i flirted with a C in AP Econ. We had finals today (I have it first period), and i rushed after school to see what i got....79.5..haha..rounded up that's a B

i also had an AP Calc final, i needed an 87 to maintain my 8, but i'm positive i got at least 5 wrong.

and then i have AP chem tmrrow. i have a low A, and i don't expect to maintain it simply because the final's going to be too hard.

Penguin: Aaaww I'm really sorry :-( Hey, chem's a hard subject...really hard.

Adding on to my Original Post: I AM, also, strictly a humanities person, and made that VERY clear in my apps. And the classes I got B's in are mathy/sciencey...does that make a difference?

haha i can relate to the OP. I loaded up on honors classes my senior year, with 5 aps and an honors language class. So far it's been hell. I've managed to get 2 As, 2 B's, and 2C's. I'm hoping i can raise those C's to a B...Chem and Calc are killing me, but I hope it won't look bad on my app because i applied as a humanities major.

koolaznpygmy: That's what I'm hoping, too, haha. I was SO stupid to think I could handle all that, PLUS the insane amt. of EC's I do, PLUS the insane familial stress at home. Gah!

I dunno...I mean, I wouldn't be worrying so much if the grades my other years weren't so good...I just worry that colleges will see it as a classic case of senior year slacking, which would be sorely wrong :-(
