Sigh.. weird problem

<<mumbles something="" about="" how="" toilet="" trained="" bugs="" are="" cool="">></mumbles>

You can get an apartment to yourself of campus if it grosses you out THAT badly. Otherwise you can learn to live with toilet seat covers & purell hand sanitizer after you touch everything.

I've always liked my privacy too, but a door is usually sufficient for me so public restrooms aren't an issue.

I'm weird about public bathrooms and people being around when I have to use the bathroom. Don't know why...

Anyway, I've gone to a lot of camps held at different colleges. The grosses bathroom was the one I got at TAMU-Commerce. It was only shared by two (possibly four) girls, but it was way grosser than any floor bathroom I've ever used.

My brother's bathroom he shares with one (actually three...because I'm sure the other two guys don't go upstairs every time they need to take a leak) other guy in his campus apartment isn't so great, either...and the apartment's only two or three years old.

College kids really aren't known for their cleaning skills.

So point is, in my experience floor bathrooms are usually better than private bathrooms...but always wear flip-flops in the showers...privates definitely included.

A floor bathroom will be cleaner because a cleaning crew will clean it, probably once a week.

frostburg--um, probably a LOT more often than that.

I used to HATE going into public bathrooms. Actually, I hated going in my friends bathrooms if it wasn't just peeing. But then I went to Europe and I had communal bathrooms and shared a bathroom with complete strangers. This is when you realize that it doesn't really matter. Everyone has to go all the time, and no one really cares, except for those that freak out that someone will hear them. So just go into a lot of public bathrooms and you get used to it fast.

public bathrooms are the best if your're the one who's hitting on other people

So let me get this straight. In public bathrooms, is there like one big room with many shower heads?

No one is going to look at your peepee and even if they do, oh well. I've never seen such a concentration of introverted nerds with bad hygiene.

I have never known a gang shower to be in a dorm.

At the college gym, yes, but never in a dorm.

But then, who cares!

Actually, NYU has private bathrooms for all of their dorm rooms.

No, just like with toilets, there will be individul stall, with at least one curtain going across the front so that you won't be exposed.

they clean the suite bathrooms once a week at Rice! :)

I really don't get how disliking public bathrooms is any indicator of personal hygiene. If anything, most folks that do are probably more concerned with cleanliness than those who don't give them a second thought...but whatever.

eh, wear shower sandals

when did showering become so important? just don't shower and when you do (if you do) everyone will run away so there, problem solved, you have the bathroom to yourself.

My advise, join water polo/swim team, you'll forget the word privacy :)

shower shoes, toilet liners (if youve got an issue with toilets, bring a box of thoes liners with you each time...if youre that paranoid), making sure you take all of your shampoo or whatever back to your dorm EACH time, and if you really want a clean shower, clean it before you use it..voluenteer your own time. ummm...thats as far as cleanliness

as far as privacy, well, that'll be no different than hs phys ed... you get over it. Changing infront of people, showering infront of people, most have more important things on their mind (unless you go to some weird school w/coed b-rooms)

Irbis, the water polo thing is funny, my school didn't have a water polo team, but I have heard that's why the guys wear 2 suits, because sometimes the suits get torn off.

theres nothing wrong w/ ur afraidness i go to sleepaway camp and ive gone to adventure camp ive taken a shower in gasp: a laundry mat...it was actually a really pretty bathroom they keep it clean and everything it was private and had a pretty shower curtain and a mirror w/ a clean toilet..ive taken showers actual not just cleaning off dirt in a rec center(We were told hey guys this is where ur taking a shower take ur towels and hop in...it wasnt that bad at all...) i have taken showers in california in a public restroom...for 25 cents for 2 minutes of hot water for 1.25 in quaters i got a nice hot 10 minute shower! and ive taken showers at camp grounds
