I submitted my UC and USC application a few days ago and wrote that I plan to take the SAT chem test in december. Since I mentioned this, would I absolutely have to send my score in, even if I do poorly? Also, if I fail to take the test, would I be penalized since I did mention that I would take it? I’m applying as a chem major so I figured I should take the sat chem test but it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed my chem material and I’m not confident that I will do well. Should I still take the test?
Yes. Hurry up and study! You are applying as a chem major, and you ahvent done the test yett, and you stated you would. Follow through.
Although obviously the best would be to take the test and do well on it, I believe on the UC application you can delete the “planned test” from your app. When you log into the UC page and click on update SAT subject tests, it gives you the option to delete a test you’ve entered. So if you don’t do as well on Dec SAT as you hoped (I’m in the same position)… you should have the option to delete what you entered as planned.
