Significance of 'Unique' ECs

I have looked around the types of ECs that people have in CC and I saw some are really common and some are very unique.

So I was wondering, how much of a boost do people get if they participate in ‘unique’ ECs?

Some my example of unique ECs are these:

Southeast Asia MUN - Secretary-General, dealing with GAs and all the preporation of the 2-day conference. (I have been doing MUN for almost 4 years)

International Irmas Youth Media Summit - I represented Thailand in a youth film summit where teenagers from almost 20-30 nations came together to look into 7 important issues that are plaguing the world today.

I appreciate all comments / advices! :)

It’s not so much “unique” ECs that catch adcoms eyes. I mean, it catches their eyes, but it really doesn’t help unless you show a certain focus/passion. Like for those 2 ECs you listed, it seems to be at a more unique level where passion is evident. That’s good stuff.

I think that unique ECs are great if you have a lot of time invested, but your “average” ECs can be awesome if you have a lot of time invested as well. For instance, attending one really unique MUN conference isn’t nearly as good as being VP of your MUN club for three years, etc.

yay for unique EC’s! =D

Though mine aren’t regional (since I’m in the US), I serve as a professional lobbyist (unpaid, sadly, but it gets rid of the paperwork. They still pay for all my trips and expenses when I go to DC to meet w/ senators/people who we need to lobby) and as a chief of a section in one of the two major parties. For me that demonstrates my passion in politics I believe, since these aren’t high school groups, but professional groups that spends millions of dollars influencing gov. I’ve worked as a professional intern on several congressional runs and one presidential run too, though still sadly unpaid, though this summer I might be getting paid for my services to another congressional run

^ Very cool! That should score you some points for adcoms!

^ that’s a pretty cool intern. are you looking to go into politics later on?

Yeah, I agree that whatever ECs anyone does, they should do it with passion. I mean, why do something that you are not passionate for right?
