Does anyone know if plebes can get onto the Silent Drill team, or if it's a strictly upperclassmen activity? The reason I ask is because I'm on the exhibition team at my school and I would like to continue into college.

it's open to everyone. From what I understand, they're pretty motivated and don't let 'just anyone' on the team. Prior experience is almost a must.

I was also wondering if drill is taught and emphasized at the academy plebe year. If it is thats one less thing I would have to worry about.

Prior experience isn't a must at all. If you want to be on the drill team, you'll get on the drill team. You just have to perform well.

And after plebe summer when you get into your company, drill isn't really emphasized as much, the only ones held to the standard are plebes. It's a fourth class system not a four class system.

Awesome. I have experience competing in marching drill, but no exhibition or rifle spinning. However, I catch on to anything drill-related very quickly. Thanks for the post, one less thing for me to worry about.

Yes, I know at least two that got on the team plebe year.
