silly and neurotic q (hey, just like me)

a lot of my friends who are applying to other schools have found out exactly what time decisions are being posted, and i can't find a similar statement on the harvard website. is it the 15th? not that a couple days less or more really matters, but i'm just curious.
thanks, happy thanksgiving, and much luck to all!

I think Byerly said that an email would be sent at 5 on the 14.

The Harvard website says they will be emailed on the 14th AFTER 5 pm and mailed the following day.

but that doesn't mean you'll get it right at 5--harvard staggers its emails. last year, however, after 5 pm, students could log into the harvard admitted students page using their application pins--if they had been accepted--before all the emails had been sent.

harvard got wise to this in the spring, I believe, and did not allow admitted RD students to access the admitted students page until the next day.

sunglasses is absolutely correct. I was admitted RD and they specifically said on the admissions website that admitted students could access the page on April 1st (not March 31st when results were e-mailed).

e-mailed 5pm on Dec. 14

as if this wasn't repeated enough

The rumored date is the 14th at 5PM. But I've also read that about a week beforehand they will email you and tell you when they are going to email you.

ok, thanks, just wondering, sorry if its been repeated 1000x.

i'll probably end up checking my email, but it just seems so impersonal. know what i mean?

It's also very nervewracking when the E-mail subject is "Admissions Decision."

yeah its weird to have something so important come in an email...
but id rather get it than wait.

Yeah. Best of luck guys! I've been on both sides: deferral (basically a rejection) and an acceptance later on. It's really nervewracking and really shows human nature and our rollercoaster emotions.
