I am assuming the answer is yes, but i'd rather just verify. If you opt for pass/fail, you still get the actual credits, correct? Not just credit for passing, but the actual 3 credits for the course.

I have 14 credits with this history class, but i'd like to take the history pass/fail, so want to make sure I get the credits and don't go under req for semester.

Oh, and please don't ask why I want to take it pass/fail, I am not a history buff and don't want to give the class too much energy with the other difficult classes i'm taking.

however, it's generally not considered good to take less than 12 letter-graded units. (moreover, you wont be eligible for the Dean's Honor List.) however, if this is your first term, then forget what i just said.

also, you have a few weeks (i believe 6) to determine whether or not you'd like to take the class pass/fail or for a letter grade. use it.

I'm an engineering student, while i'm going to try to keep my gpa up, I doubt i'll be on the dean's list (doesn't that require like a 3.8 or something?).

This is my first semester, so I can leave it pass/fail and then within 6 weeks I can change to letter grade, or is it only vice versa?
