Silly question, but should essays be double or single spaced?

<p>When uploading and submitting essays on common app, should I upload them as being double-spaced or single-spaced?... or does it matter?</p>

<p>well, they only limit by no of words, not by no. of spaces. You could use single or double (or any thing in-between too, when you write by hand!). But, it has to be easily readable and should look good. </p>

<p>I guess double-space is good (or 14 or 16 points of spaces if you are using MS Word).</p>
