I am a junior in high school and NYU is my top choice so far. I have great extra curricular service etc., my SAT's will be in the higher end of the school's average range; however, my gpa is not as high as it could be say...3.5? What do you think my chances are of getting in NYU's silver school of social work are? I would love to hear some insight! Thanks!

I think the SW school focuses a lot on EC and does not pay AS MUCH focus on your grades. Although you need to at least have A’s in the classes related closely to SW. I got into the School of SW for graduate school with a 3.93 GPA, TONS of EC (including president of multiple groups, co-president, historian and other chair positions), a lot of community involvement and a great essay. I am also fluent in a second language. All you can do is apply and see if you get in. Answers on this chat board will not be reliable to determine if you get in. It all depends on if the admissions people connect with you and your experiences and feel you will become a competent SWer. Really spend a lot of time writing your admissions essays and make sure they represent you well. Good Luck!
