Similar programs to MIT's Technology and Policy program

Hi all,

I'm planning on applying to MIT's TPP program with the aim of going into a technology management role or a consulting/banking role afterwards. I'm 2 years out of school with experience at an engineering firm and don't yet think I'm ready to go for an MBA. (I would only aim for a top 10 school, otherwise it's not worth it IMO)

I need to find some second and third choice schools. I'm looking at some Masters in Engineering Management programs. Can anyone answer:

1) Are there opportunities to get recruited into management consulting, etc out of MEM programs? Are there specific schools that are known for this?

2) Are there any programs along the same lines as MIT's TPP programs that you'd recommend? Specifically, I'm looking for a program where I can leverage technical expertise but transition to a managerial/policy role.

3) Am I neglecting something obvious?

Thanks,

Alex

I think Carnegie Mellon has some sort of program you’re looking for. I know there’s stuff in both engineering & public policy as well as their managerial school aimed towards what you’re looking into.

You might be able to find what graduates of the programs do by following the links on this page: [Post-Graduation Survey Results-Career and Professional Development Center - Carnegie Mellon University](http://www.studentaffairs.cmu.edu/career/students_alumni/post-grad-survey/index.html)
