<p>Hi momneeds, my d is a year behind yours but has the same thought process right now No schools up north and loves the size and style of WM. A couple of other OOS suggestions that over the years I have heard of and will pass on: Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA. and Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. Both are nice schools that I have heard are similar to WM in many ways but I don’t think are quite as rigorous an admit. Don’t know about the merit money situation though. Good luck to you both- we will be following what you find out and pass on!</p>
<p>Wake Forest, Georgia College, Furman - bear in mind though that nothing will approximate the financial value of attending W&M as an in-state student.</p>
<p>Oberlin, Grinnell, Carleton, Pomona would be good additions as well for smart/witty/accepting. But Carleton and Pomona would be as difficult as Haverford re admission.</p>
<p>My Son applied to SUNY Geneseo, maybe that has some similarities. Maybe not.</p>
