you’ve asked this in a few threads already. we’re not College Board.

they’re all dream schools.

i think she knows its not college board haha she just wants some schools that are like nyu obviously…

id say a good school is barnard and columbia which are both in new york but barnard is not co-ed. however they do allow you to take classes over at columbia.

if you dont get into nyu, youre also going to have trouble getting into most of those schools. even if youre instate for the UCs.

Try BU or GW

um not exactly. thats not the way it works at all. just because you dont get into one school does not mean you will not get into other top notch schools. you should definitely apply to your top schools and matches because i have had several friends who have gotten in to certain schools and not to others. you could even get into berkeley if you dont get into nyu

@berry
…that IS the way it works… if your stats weren’t good enough for one school (NYU admits 30%) then it does not make sense for you to get into an even more selective school. the only thing that might be to your benefit at the other schools is that NYU puts a lot of weight on how creative and artsy you are. In general, the other schools put a greater emphasis academics and general stats.

Both of you are correct. my tutor got into Columbia but got rejected to Berkeley so there are some rare occasions but let me emphasize the rare. usually, when your stats arent good enough for one school (nyu), you wont be good enough to be admitted into other similar schools (i.e. usc)

Fordham is a great school!

but babygrl; in terms of similarity… i mean, nyu really is one of a kind. but i intended to apply to barnard (not columbia because they wanted SAT IIs and i’m lazy). Have you heard of The New School?? You might like it there, and although it would definitely be a safety school for you, it’s in NYC and in the same general area as NYU – i think…
UMich is a GREAT state school. This definitely IS a question for the collegeboard though…

nuclear: it says on cb that fordham is in the bronx…im not from ny but i kinda know that that the bronx is known as a bad area…so is the campus not safe?

and mmarsh: what do u mean by ur lazy? lol im lazy too and i did bad on sat 2’s : / did u just not take them?

Fordham also has a campus in Manhattan. It’s called Lincoln Center.

@babygrl
haha i meant i just refused to take them at all. idk about NYU, but a couple other colleges&universities i’ve talked to said that SATIIs don’t matter so much… like if they SUCK, it won’t necessarily count against you.

oh dont u kinda need them for some colleges? yeah mine really do SUCK. not even kidding. like ive never seen anybodys as bad as mine but i deserve it lol i didnt study for it and when i dont study, i fail. but if i do study, then i come out smelling like a white mushroom.

i didn’t apply to colleges that wanted them, problem solved. i never study either, i think standardized tests are a joke

white mushroom??? missing the reference haha…

lol yeah me eithherr…on my last sat test…i was like okay. i HAVE to study. and it was pretty much a waste of time. im pretty sure my score didnt increase, altho i think i did learn a lot…it just wasnt the same stuff. idk. whateverrr. i hate standardized tests lol well actually if i started from the beginning and someone told me they were thaat important then i wouldve been more motivated. and it sux cuz colleges DO care. if ur the kid with the high gpa and low sat score, u go to a crappy skool. they dont just accept u and give u a break. but at least i made it up to, hopefully, nyu’s or usc’s minimum : / lol
