I really like the University of Richmond and was wondering what schools on par academically would be-doesn’t need to be mid-Atlantic/south location
Bucknell is very similar.
Let’s see. Off the top of my head… Lafayette, Bucknell, Lehigh, Colgate, Occidental, Scripps, Pitzer, Davidson, Grinnell, Oberlin, Kenyon, Colby, Bates, Reed, UMiami.
Wake Forest is the most similar. If you’re willing to go larger, there’s BC.
William and Mary, F&M, Gettysburg, Holy Cross
Dickinson
… Centre College, Connecticut College, Gettysburg, Sewanee, Trinity (Hartford), Union College …
I won’t contribute any more colleges to the discussion. I will say that Richmond is beautiful as a campus, it has the best dining hall of any school we have ever visited, it has great academics and Division 1 sports.
It’s a great school.
Not Lehigh that is not a LAC.
Not similar schools but the schools most often applied to in addition to Richmond are:
- W&M
- UVA
- BC
- Gtown
- Vandy
Richmond is very similar to Wake Forest.
Not Grinnell, Oberlin or Reed. The vibe is nothing like Richmond.
Yep, scratch Pitzer, Scripps and probably Bates, too.
Wake, Holy Cross, Bucknell
We could answer better if you were to explain exactly what about Richmond you like? But people I know who have liked Richmond also looked at schools like Colgate, Bucknell, Lafayette, Colby, Haverford, Holy Cross, Connecticut College, Franklin & Marshall, William and Mary to name a few offhand.
You can look at the USNWR list of liberal arts colleges to get an idea of other LACs that are on an academic par with URichmond.
Right… but that wasn’t the OP’s question.
True, not OP’s question. But I was anticipating the next, obvious question…
