SAT / ACT scores?

Haven’t taken the act yet. But my projection would be 29/30

You almost need two lists one for 30 ACT and another for 26 ACT.

Your current targets are for 30 ACT

Rochester weather is not that bad...really. Two weeks ago, it was 70° and my daughter and her friends were studying on the quad. (Of course, they got a foot snow three days later, but at least it's not boring!)

the problem I have with Rochester is just I feel as if it’s not nationally recognized. I know its a great school but if I were to say I go to university of Rochester, a lot of people wouldn’t know that Rochester is really good. Not sure if that makes sense or not. By no means am I trying to bash the school, i’m just curious.

Anyone who matters (meaning potential employers, grad schools) will know that URochester is an excellent school.

Agree. Compared to the three schools mentioned in your title, I’d take U Rochester over any of them (just one person’s opinion, of course).

Well, occasionally USNWR rankings do come in handy:

  1. The University of Rochester
  2. Boston University
  3. Lehigh
  4. Villanova
  5. Fordham

As a historical footnote, URochester has a held an impressively strong academic presence among U.S. colleges:

some more I researched:

  • Washington Seattle
    -university of Richmond
  • wake forest

just opinions of these schools and my chances?

Your tentative academic interests, @Jsan81?

business/ finance

For those interests, look in particular at BC, Emory, URochester, Lehigh and URichmond (then screen by selectivity factors).

Ok thank you. You have been a huge help. Do you think it helps that I go to a well known high school throughout nation? I know some colleges take it into account. Im somewhat proud of my GPA but not completely happy with it. T

If your HS has Naviance that is probably the best tool to see what schools people with similar academics to yours have got into.

Yes we have it. I have been checking it out.

You really might be in the best position to understand how hard you actually worked to earn your GPA and what that may indicate about the figure itself. If you did work hard across a range of subjects, then your profile, when viewed in full context (including consideration of the rigor of your HS environment), will be evaluated favorably by many admissions committees. Confidence on your part, then, may be warranted as you proceed in your college search.

Regarding the University of Rochester from an additional comparative standpoint, the school receives a “most selective” designation from USNWR (their highest category).

Which do you like better- richmond or rochester? They seem somewhat similar: being in a small city, and great business programs.

^^^One is a LAC, one is a mid-sized university. One is in VA, one is in upstate NY. The question is which do YOU prefer.

if i had to pick a location it would be richmond easily.
