Hi! i need help choosing a college. i’m a premed and have asked questions before but this is my last time asking so i added a lot of detail. i would appreciate any advice!! thank you
At simmons college, i got a full ride with honors but the college isn’t known well for premed. i heard of many people who don’t get into MD schools (medical schools) and have bad MCAT scores because they don’t get properly prepared.
at brandeis i got in and i know its VERY well known for premed and med school acceptance rate but i also heard it is almost impossible to get decent grades. (B+ or higher). i would be commuting there so the commute is about 40 mins on normal good days so that might be a struggle. campus is not great, very big.
at umass amherst i got a full ride but no honors. i heard it’s very easy to get into honors so i plan on doing that after my 1st semester. it’s a great school but location sucks as a city person. i heard pre med is good there and grading isn’t harsh, you get what you deserve.
at northeastern i got in through the nuin which means that i will spend my 1st semester abroad. i get credits for my classes but they don’t go into my gpa from the 1st semester. and also they only have one general chemistry class (one semester instead of two like at many other colleges) and the lab hours for all premed science classes are one hour where other colleges usually have 3-4 hours. also i heard med school acceptace rate isn’t bad. and grading is easy as well.
thank you!!
