I got into both of these colleges. How I got into MHC is beyond my understanding, but I did.

When I was in high school I wasn't very concerned about my studies, and I didn't even want to attend college, but after I took a gap year I noticed how much I missed school and how badly I wanted to continue my studies.
I applied to three all-women colleges, and I got into these two. The idea of going to MHC is otherwordly to me, but I'm scared that if I go to MHC I won't be prepared for the work load. I've been told by friends that their work load is very intense, and I'm not sure if I'm prepared for that.

Would it be a good idea to go to Simmons and then transfer to MHC for an easier transition?

so, according to what u said, u seem rly concerned bout MHC being too difficult for u to handle. but ill tell u as an ED applicant to mhc, i did alot of research on the school and ill tell u that they do a rlyy great job with helping students out in terms of the transition to college. As for Simmons, I have a friend going there next yr and shes rly happy bout her choice simply because Simmons was one of the only colleges that offered her major (nutritional science). MHC def. has wayy more opportunities as a whole than Simmons does. Ill say that if u want to be in an environment where u r challenged and yet loaned a helping hand for whatever u might need, then go to MHC. Im not saying it wont be hard or that someone will be there to hold ur hand thru ur four years at mhc but i feel like itll be worth it for u if ur an individual who appreciates being in an intellectual yet warm and supporting learning environment.

feel free to message me if u have any questions! and go Green griffins! (thats our class color and mascot lol)

Wow, Kathleen, I could barely read that. :p

devotchka, the work at Mount Holyoke is certainly challenging, but it’s not impossible. Where you’ll find your biggest challenge is in the upper-level courses, but you have a ways to go before you even get into those, and the 100-levels and even 200-levels you’ll take will help to prepare you for them. Honestly, they would not have admitted you if they thought you were stupid. They admitted you because they want you to come here.

Not only am I too insecure about the desicion at this moment, but I found an apartment in the city where I pretty much don’t pay any rent and I’d be living with my best friend, so we’ll see what happens next year.
