How prestigious is Simon’s compared to other programs out there? I know it depends on what one makes of the research but assuming one does not write an INTEL winning research paper. How does it compare with other science research opportunities other than RSI which I understand is the most famous? For example…How does it compare with SMIR or other Stanford Research Summer opportunities or NIH or Jackson’s or Clarks etc. ?
Accepted but won’t be attending (for reference, I didn’t get the likely letter but was still accepted).
Can anybody compare SIMR and Simons?
They are both fabulous summer research program. SIMR has 4%(?) acceptance rate which has a higher reputation. Simons has 12% acceptance rate. Simons might have more awards in STS and Siemens.
Is anyone on the waitlist for Simons? And does anyone know how many people are generally on it?
Would you happen to know what kind of research is done at SMIR, especially in the Bioinformatics and computer science related projects? How would it be different than Simons?
I think the students have until March 31st to confirm and probably the waitlist will kick in after that.
