Simple but vital question

To be considered for this major, all of the preparatory courses listed here must be completed by the spring before transfer.

When they say "by the spring", does that mean that the prerequisites have to be completed by the time spring starts, or by the end of spring?

Aka, is the spring before transfer too late to take required prerequisites?

If it matters at all, this is for UCLA's Letters and Science.

end

as long as you finished most of pre-req, it’s ok to take some in spring

It has to be completed by the end of spring (before you actually transfer).

Thanks guys.

But this kind of extends into another question.

I plan to take the prerequisites for a backup major just in case I don’t get in to my first choice. But I plan to take most of these prerequisites in spring. Won’t it hurt my chances for admission if they have no idea how I’ll do in the courses that have to do with the major? Aka, the people in Global Studies will only know how well I can do in pre-bizecon courses, rather than being able to see how well I can do in classes like geography and political science.

You will have to update your application in the fall so that they can see your fall grades. So your fall prereq’s will definitely count, but as far as your prereq in spring goes, the colleges won’t get to see the spring grades. However if you want to know how colleges weigh in prereq grades check this thread

Hope it helps :)
