Simple FAFSA question

Ok, so I haven't recieved my W2 from work yet and my parents have not either. Is there a point to filling out the FAFSA now without any of that info or just wait?

what are the due dates for your schools?
I filled it out Jan 1st- the 1st year, and corrected info later
Its most important not to miss deadlines

I have a question about the FAFSA. I do not require any financial help, and I bet my EFC would be EXTREMELY high. Should I file a FAFSA anyways? There will probably be no circumstances that wouldn't allow my parents to pay for college.

Sorry to interject my question here, but I didn't want to start a new thread about the FAFSA.

^Sometimes/some schools request an application for FA. The FAFSA by itself only gives a EFC and a guide for a school to give aid.

Some schools require an FA app and a FAFSA inorder to qualify for Merit Aid (not need aid). All schools require the FAFSA inorder to qualify for government guaranteed loans (perkins, pell, Staffords, PLUS). Some private lenders may also request this information, or similiar information on their own application.

A few years ago, it was cheaper to get a loan (need a FAFSA) than to pay out of pocket for schooling.

Astute people look at many alternatives before casting the final decision.

I would wait for the w-2's. I am planning to do the taxes, FAFSa and Profile the first weekend in February. Most schools have a Feb 15th priority deadline.

Really? Most of the schools I am applying to has a Feb. 1st deadline. So to the OP, you should check out when the deadlines for your colleges are and plan accordingly.

If your parents income and assets haven't changed dramtically, you can just use last years figures, unless your school requires you to submit your tax documents as well.
