If I choose to send an official SAT score report via Collegeboard to all the schools I'm applying to before I submit the actual application (i.e. right now) how will the schools link that score report with my application?

Your name and other information. Believe me, schools have been doing this a long time.

The reason I’m concerned is that there is another individual at my school with my exact same name, and our academic records are constantly mixed around. His SAT scores appeared on my transcript, for example. I don’t want my SAT score to be linked to the wrong person.

you could always self-report if you want…

and btw, admission officers wouldn’t just link the SAT scores by the applicant’s name… you still have your home address,… and all other info.

chill

Social Security number! You list in on your registration for the SAT, and also one the Common App. Your SSN is unique to you, where your name could be shared by 20 applicants from a variety of backgrounds.

The SSN is not necessarily listed on the common app.

Well seems like my fear was confirmed as I sent my SAT scores over a month ago and the school has absolutely no record of it…

Are you sure you sent it in?

Well, perhaps it’s not all bad . . . maybe you’ll get some of his college acceptances! :)
