do colleges count first semester senior year grades into gpa? i was always told no, but i've recently stumbled upon a post that said it does count...

depends on what your high school does, since they're the ones who calculate your GPA and put it on your transcript. But even if they don't calculate them into your GPA, those grades still matter to colleges

yeah i hear they are still important, especially if there's a large change or they have less material to look at for some reason (i.e. you said your grades fell an earlier semester b/c you were sick)

Well, not if you apply ED, or some other situation where decisions come before the mid-year report. Mid-year report is always important otherwise. Probably incorporated into GPA for the sake of comparing students. Can't see why they would be considered any less important than other grades.

Yes, they do count them in their calculations and deliberations.
