Hi, I was wondering if there was a limit to the number of schools I could apply for using common app. Also, is there a maximum number of AP exams that you can write in the application form, or is it unlimited? Thank you so much.

There is a limit of 20 schools using the Common Application. And no, you can’t create a second account and apply to more schools through the Common App that way.

The Common App has space for 8 AP exams. Actually, it’s for AP/IB/SAT Subject tests combined.

You can use the “Additional Information” section if your data doesn’t fit in the spaces provided.

Okay, so you are saying that I have only 8 columns to fill out all of my AP/IB/ SAT + Subjects tests combined.?

Thank you so much for your answer. :)

Yes - 8 slots for all of your AP, IB, and SAT subject tests combined. This is for self-reported scores. For SAT subject tests, you would probably need to send official scores to the schools you are applying to. For AP and IB test scores, you probably just need to send them to the school you plan to attend, after you are admitted.

The “good” thing about this - you can select which (if any) scores you want to self-report, to make your application look the strongest, and don’t have to self-report any test scores you don’t want to list.

Oh, I see it now. Thank you for your explanation, college_query! You certainly helped me a lot :)
