Simple Supplement Question

I dont know if this was the Supplement in years past but this year its asking to describe why you’re a good fit and why you’re interested in American using max of 150 words. I know thats a pretty common one, I just have a simple question.

In these types of things do they just look for simple and basic answers because my Common App essay is great, i’m a great writer in AP classes, I just am not sure whether or not they are looking for stylistic flare or just a straightforward answer.

Its only 150 words maximum so I can’t imagine they are looking for a masterpiece, just a simple answer to their question right?

Personally I just answered the question; I said what I like about the school and why it was my top choice (if it’s not your top choice then obviously you just say why you like it). They’re pretty much just looking to make sure you actually have some interest in the school and might actually attend if accepted.

Just don’t say it’s because you want to be in DC. Ou can say strong department, engaged student body, internships, strong counseling, etc. Short and to the point.

Off topic… I’m really disappointed at AU’s supplement. When I applied they didn’t even have a supplement so this is an improvement, but really… 150 words? Way too little.

If we really want to brand ourselves as a competitive university then we should be doing a standard 400+ word supplement at the very least like other schools are doing. Does admissions fear that people will be turned off and not apply? Sigh.
