Thanks a lot. You won't hurt my feelings so don't try. :)

Don’t be discouraged! I’d say your chances are as good as anyone else’s for transferring. It’s basically a crapshoot and there’s no telling what will catch the admins’ eye this time around. Your ACT is a little on the low side, though I suppose you’d be coming in as a junior and so it might not hurt you as much as if you were coming in as a sophomore. You also seem to have solid ECs, which is good. It’s my impression that EC’s don’t matter as much when you’re applying as a transfer. I got in as a sophomore transfer, with only 1 EC in college (and I wasn’t really that active in it either). The others I listed on the application were from high school (being only a year removed, I thought it was appropriate). A big highlight of your stats is your GPA. Keep that up until the end of Fall semester and you’ll be golden. Essays are also a really important part of the transfer app because they’re the place you get to showcase your interests and especially your personality. Also, make sure your “why Columbia?” essay is compelling and at least fairly unique.
