edwin or david?

im gonna have to lock in with david since one of the programs you mentioned is in michigan. I’m literally dying of curiosity so tell me!!! btw 680 is the best

You are very close. Anyhow edwin is already into stanford so nothing even matters any more for him haha. Not david but, i bet your next guess will be accurate

dalbert, jin, dennis, brian, jimmy, or nathan

dennis is another good guess. I’m pretty close geographically to David and the make-believe state I said I was from (Indiana)

also everyone else in this thread must just be like “what???” haha

is it calvin?

lololol calvin. no ill pm you. i dont really want my name revealed in this thread anyways

cool, back to SIMR everyone!

hey litotes, message me on facebook

^that whole thing just hurt my brain.

Anyhow, does anyone have an idea about the acceptance rate of the program?

Aww, this is the program I wanted to apply to, but I still have school until the 19th… -.-

@litotes - I believe that last year 58 students were selected out of about 1200 applicants.

^uhhh wow. And this is why im applying to seven programs… ■■■.

Still working on the essays =.=

Also, my school doesn’t calculate unweighted GPA. What method are you guys using to calculate your unweighted?

On the plus side, they added 2 new institutes this year which may possibly equal more spots!

So I know this is really last minute, but before I work my butt off to finish the application, how important are your sat scores? I just got mine back (I’m a junior and wrote it for the first time in January) and it was really low, like below 2000. :\ is this going to be detrimental to my application? Is it worth applying still? Would not sending my sat scores be better or worse?
And final question, being a standford summer program, I’m assuming its going to be very competitive, so what are the chances for me, a female junior with a 4.0 unweighted gpa but no prior research experience at other institutes, of getting in?
Sorry for the long reply!

^they want passion. If you can convey passion and have shown interest in science (gotten involved in school, EC’s, etc.) then you always have a shot. Just write great essays.

I think SAT scores are required, aren’t they?

Does anybody know if its at all possible to live in student housing if you’re under eighteen? Or is the only option renting/subletting an apartment nearby?
