Submitted, and I really hope I get into something at least. Applied to TASP, SIMR, JAX, going to apply to HSHSP now haha. Good luck everyone :)

good luck y’all - i’m banking everything on simr though

Submitted about half an hour ago. I’m really happy with how my essays turned out. I now have SIMR, JAX, GMU ASSIP, NIH, and Clark apps done. I just need one!

This is a bit late, but what did you guys use for your additional document upload.

Also, for the optional demographic information, like that about your 2nd parent and family education levels, did you provide that?

Thanks

@draconicsheep - i embraced my average asian middle class self, i don’t think hiding it would help anyone

Submitted with 6 minutes left to spare ^^

I only applied to SIMR; hoping I get in, won’t be too disappointed if I don’t. Second semester senior! xD

What are you all planning on doing if you don’t get into any summer programs? (Hopefully that won’t happen, but considering the competitiveness of these programs…)

partying, going to the beach, hanging out with friends, going around eating gourmet food, watching movies

just kidding

people on collegeconfidential don’t do those things

i think i forgot to convert my resume from word to pdf. will this be an issue?

also, if i uploaded 3 mb total for the five documents instead of 2 mb, is that a problem?

Thanks phosphorylation, I didn’t see your reply before I submitted, but I had a similar attitude.

@jokolomo, I think the pdf/jpg/tiff thing is for the transcripts & test scores. On the last page (FAQ) #5, it says “you can upload a one-page only word document listing additional activities or awards”, so I think it’s fine… I uploaded my abstract as a word doc too.

Not sure about the 3 MB thing, I thought they wouldn’t even let you submit if you went over, but guess not…

Oh wow, I didn’t even catch that information about the additional document and submitted something over a page in length. Hopefully the document will be, at worst, just discarded.

Anyone wanna share their essays, since it’s done?

For those who have emailed SIMR before, about how long is the turnaround for emails?

Thanks

^ why don’t you start? :)

@draconic They responded to my inquiry the next day.

i didnt catch that either. anyone want to confirm that you could only submit a 1-page word doc?

No “requirement” per se, but the application instructions PDF does say that if you have additional extracurricular activities and you feel that it’s necessary, you can use the “Other Document” section to submit something no more than a page in length.

I didn’t think I would get in anyways, but I reread my essay a few minutes ago and found a subject-verb agreement typo and a pretty awkward phrase. :(

I feel like every non diverse person wrote on the diversity prompt thinking it would make him/her look unique but in reality everyone wrote on that topic

And shindawg send me your essays! I’m curious on what everyone wrote about
