SIMR 2019

Hi guys the Stanford SIMR applications are out so this thread is just here to discuss the program, ask questions and receive advice from peers

To kick us off I wanted to know if It would be better to include my PSAT (1460) and SAT(1500) or leave them off the app

I’m also applying this year! are there any alumni who can give some tips for essays?

I wonder what the acceptance rate for SIMR is? I’m also interested

Does anyone know if its fine if we received a professor recommendation from a college internship or if it has to be a high school teacher rec?

Hi everyone,

I was accepted into SIMR last year. I would be more than happy to answer any questions any of you might have!

@aswiml
You can PM me. I’d be more than happy to give suggestions.

@caligirl202
I would say that it’s up to you. Both scores are about equivalent to one another, so it’s a matter of whether or not you want to include your scores or not.

@iloveanime123
Acceptance rate is 5%

@exa526
I put teacher recommendations only and then had my professor email them his own recommendation.

@GoBears2023 Do you think it could affect me if I put my professor recommendation only? I didn’t think about emailing them seperately…

@exa526

I don’t think it’ll hurt you. At most, just email SIMR about any changes :slight_smile:

this is kind of late but i’m wondering if gender identity counts as diversity? the website said they were looking to increase the amount of minorities in stem but idk if they meant racial minorities and underprivileged students or also lgbt students

I believe today is the decision date for SIMR 2019. Good luck to those who have applied.

Yes. Please post if you hear something.

My friend just got accepted but he committed elsewhere :stuck_out_tongue:

when and where will decisions come out?

I think they email you and call you around this time.

Nothing yet!

do they notify people who’ve been rejected as well?

People who’ve been rejected get an email.

Yes last years thread had email at 5:08 pm or so…

Do results come out at 5pm?

Someone posted that they got accept a half an hour ago
