Does that mean that if you didn't get one today, you are basically rejected or deferred? Alot of people on the East Coast even got it, so I'm guessing that the acceptance packages are sent in as priority mail and the other small letters are sent as regular (3rd class mail) and so this must mean that I'm NOT accepted...right? :-(

People who were deferred and rejected got letters today too. I think they were all sent as first class mail and it isn't about when you get them.

Not True!

I got my acceptance letter after my friends got their rejection letters. I live 40 mins away from campus too.

Acceptances are mailed through regular mail.

It could, however, explain the amazing ratio of Accepted on CC...(hopefully not though!)

those that got deferral/rejection letters are near the west, so they would have arrived either way. Well I of course really hope that this isn't the case, but when I was reading the old threads, someone said acceptance letters would always reach you faster...so I don't know...

The acceptance rate is not amazing on CC. Perhaps it is better than 20%, but probably not.

Think about it. Most people who get deferred/rejected don't come and scream it to the world. The people who got in are more likely to do this.

good thinking.. i might not even post my desicion.. havent decided yet haha.

I didn't like posting my decision, especially because REJECTED is plastered everywhere, sometimes in red color like it's something awful. But my name was on the list, so it's only fair.

In my opinion, I think that it's just how quickly the post offices process your mail. Good luck to all, especially RD applicants (ahem, like me)

I'm gonna change the color to something less harsh.. I'm sorry, you know that no one here is trying to make anything worse. If I get rejected, I'll think of all of the people I know who got rejected from Stanford and accepted to Harvard later on :D
