it's actually so that google can't find it.

darkload, US colleges don't give conditional offers. it's either you're in, out, or on the waitlist.

Well screwitlah (hey, do you like have a real name, its dam weird to call you screwitlah), I heard of US applicants being rescinded coz of bad high school senior year grades. But.. Dunno about A levels.

@N g o c: So that guy can't google and find this page? I'm kinda screwed if he did, haha.

so for US are A level results necessary? you can just apply and screw your a levels?

actually it's such a small world. i just stumbled onto a page while researching on something, and i'm wondering if n g o c actually refers to michelle

^ Darklord, one or two Bs are fine if your predicted results indicate straight As, but any more and they might rescind your offer/place you on academic probation.

oh that's the reason for the spacing. I only know when people quote links, they'll add spaces cos CC doesn't allow posting links. Like it'll appear as a bunch of asterisks :D

Okay now it's getting scary. Somebody knows somebody's real name now? How did that happen?

The A level results thing: Nope it's not important at all :D

hi ya all! A Malaysian here... haha. I've not seen many Msians here on this forum though.

Abt the A levels thing in US, they are considered as secondary school grades right? Anyway, would a 'd' in accounting look harsh on my app?

Mimanchi: definitely not pretty, but does it refer to your sch exams or actual a levels?

Rescindences are really rare. I would think that once admitted, A-levels would be treated like AP exams -- generally it will only affect what credit you get.

1234d: Actual AS Level exam actually. I'm retaking that subject in A2 though. But it can do nothing to help the 'd' at the moment since I can only submit my AS result in my app.

yeah i guess it'll hurt, but you can't do anything about it. just do well for ur AS and SATs!

what if your predicted is say, a ABB or ABC? do you still get a conditional- or is it a downright rejection? and does GP contribute to the requirement? thanks in advance! (:

also- if your school INSISTS on sending in the promo results- and you have something with Bs and Cs and Ds- with say a ABBCC for predicted... do you have ANY chance at the top schools for US admissions? it's for a friend that i'm asking- she has 3 olympiad medals- not golds- silvers and i think one's a bronze...

got a question here. I just oversaw one of my teacher's recommendation: he ticked all of my qualities as one of the top few... I mean would that cause the admission office to be suspicious?

To add to the long list of questions :D should i indicate rank for my JC years? even though there's like no way to find out so it's just an estimation?

btw Emma Watson got into Cambridge. how cool is that!

Darklord, the 'criteria' itself can be ambiguous sometimes. I guess the letter of rec has more to say than the 'ticks' :)

where did you hear of that? Cambridge sends out offers in January, so the reporter must have been incredibly slow or incredibly prescient. Unless you're saying that she recently fulfilled a conditional offer just this August with her A level results... which is still very slow. Anyway, the following articles suggest she's still in the midst of the application process.

Actually, she's really interested in going to America. She visited Harvard and Yale this week. I wonder what HER essays will be about :)
