Singaporeans, please advise on my current situation

Currently I'm in Secondary 4 in a neighborhood school (albeit a pretty prestigious one, Xinmin Secondary) and I have close to zero achievements. Shall not go to much into the whys, but as of now I have a 2nd place in 3D Graphics & Animation Competition 2009 Stills Category and participant in Physics Olympiad 2009.

So right now I'm keeping my eyes out for opportunities to rake up my achievements count. I'm aiming for Stanford University, do I still have a chance considering my very bad start?

I heard that in JCs students will be given lots of opportunities to rake up their achievements count.

I have asked a friend (who lurks here, too) who got admitted to Stanford but I'd like to hear from more people. Do I still stand a chance?

Apart from my low achievements count, my results are pretty decent. I'm in triple sciences class, I get A1s for my Sciences & Mathematics and A2 for English. My humans are not as strong, and my Chinese is really bad.

I don't take HMT so I definitely can't get into Raffles/Hwa Chong, but I'm planning on NJC. Going to Stanford is my dream, and I hope I still have a chance.

TIA! :D

hey man, i think the first step would be mug your ass off and get in NJC first. no possibility of DSA into rj? After you get into JC, try for all the olympiads and get into counsel, on top of tat study real hard for SATs. You might still have a chance if you start planning now. Good luck!

Okay thanks :D

Bump…

More advise? :)
