Hi! I got accepted for the fall as a freshman at state, and i was wondering how likely my chances are of getting a single dorm/ if there was any way to increase my odds?
I’m a very solitary person when I’m at home and work best at night/like to play music when i study etc. and having a roommate seems like it would definitely cause more problems than not.
I’ve listed a single dorm in my housing app as my number one choice but I wanted to see if anyone had experience with getting a single dorm, etc. Thanks!
Unless you have a medical need or disability, do not count on getting a single dorm. You can always call Housing to see what your chances are in getting that single.
I need to take the above information back. The dorms with the most singles are the Cuic Suites so you can get a single room but you would be sharing the two bathrooms and common study area facilities with anywhere from 6-9 students. You also realize that a single will cost more.
@gumbymom Hi! Yes I know they offer singles in zura and cuic and that they cost more-i was more seeing if anyone who has gone to sdsu and gotten a single had any advice that helped (talking to housing etc.) or knew how often it happens. Thanks!
It could not hurt to call housing to gauge your chances. Since you are willing to pay more for a single room, I would think you should have a decent shot.
