Ever since I can remember people have been telling me to get a double in college and room with another student for that traditional college life experience. I get the whole “your roommate might be your best friend spiel,” but the thing is that I’m a quiet kid. I don’t like crowds or parties, I’m introverted so I kinda need some alone time to like “recharge,” and I’ve typically prefer not talking to people if can (which really irritates people because some just cannot deal with silence). So this leaves me to wonder if a single is really that bad for me. I mean, I’m not trying to isolate myself, because I do plan on making friends, i just don’t know if I can really handle a double. Any advice?
If you can stretch your budget, then go for the single.
If going with a single requires loans or undue financial burden, then I would swallow your fears and go with the double.
Worse comes to worse figure that you’re only going to be in the dorm for 8 months of the year and for most they don’t really stay in the dorm most of the day. They are out and about doing their things and studying in the library. You are only going to have to worry about when you sleep.
