<p>Does anyone know how I can request a single dorm? What dorm are the ones with singles? Also, is anyone here a current student that has been in a single person dorm before? If you have, could you describe your experience? Is it very antisocial?</p>

<p>I believe that you should contact The Office of Residential Life if you want to request a single room. I am sure that other users on here who have previously or currently or graduated from the University of Maryland will tell you how to do that. Thank you for your post.</p>
<p>Realistically speaking, the chances of getting a single room as an incoming freshman are very slim. My D’s knew people who were in one (usually a single in a traditional non-freshman dorm, who probably got placed there at the last-minute, due to a current student deciding to live off campus, etc.), so I know it’s possible, but not likely.</p>
