<p>If you apply ONLY to public universities, FAFSA doesn't include non-custodial parents and you will probably get a better financial aid package than you would if the parents were still married.</p>
<p>Apply to any of the top 300 or so private colleges that use the Profile Form..and you will find that they will expect your ex-spouse to pay , even if he won't. (Yes, I know, I'm presuming things..but USUALLY the custodian parent is female and the non-custodial parent is male.)</p>
<p>They probably wouldn't give me any financial aid, because I'm not that good of a student, and we are well off (I live with my mom, she makes around $140,000 a year).</p>
