Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

No saints here, BB! But, after spending several hours in the hot sun weeding ( and hardly making a dent) I’m definitely in need of a tall cool one! Where’s H when I need him to help? Off sailing for the week from CT to ME w/ 3 other guys. And you know they’re having a few cool ones!

Gee, CBB, you H is one lucky guy. In my house, if I mention weeding, my H mysteriously disappears in his garage jungle claiming that he needs to fix yet another broken thingamajig. But he always shows up when I open a Corona. :)

Chastely sipping iced tea. ;)

We have an empty nest this week, so we can do whatever we want!

Too bad we’re too old to remember what it was we wanted to do… :D

Very funny, mommusic!

H and I helped our D move out of her first ratty apartment (shared with 3 slobby roommates) into a sparkling clean, modern studio. She paid movers, but H and I almost killed our old selves helping. Two days later, I am almost recovered.

But I don’t think I can ever do that again.

Helloooo, Sinners! Sheesh, I’m dragging this sorry-a$$ thread up from PAGE THREE! Thought you guys could use some entertainment while you’re waiting for the little darlings to go back to school.

This is sluggboy and his former bandmates playing the dorm room circuit a couple of years ago. Sluggjr is the stand-up bass player. A round of shooters for the house. Why should I have all the fun? :p

Thanks Sluggy!

They sound great and it is indeed entertaining! I just love to see the young people playing on the old-timey instruments. ACOUSTIC instruments. :)

Yes-- very entertaining, sluggy.Congratulate your kiddo on his talent. Oh-- and thanks too for the secondary entertainment… someone is gonna open a can o’ whoopa$$ on you for posting a link to youtube!! Ya gotta read the signs around these parts.

I missed it! Sluggbugg, what should I search for to find it on Youtube?

Renee- try “Shakeybones - I aint got no home” and see if you can pull it up on youtube.

Yep, it was the first hit. Thanks, jym!
And Sluggy, that was one of my grandpa’s favorites - cool!

OK peeps, the weekend’s over.

Wake up and smell the coffee! Virtual coffee, like everything else around here, but it’s the world’s best, and made just the way YOU like it!

Yes, even if you like that rotgut stuff from the place that must not be named. ;)

Oh, thanks, mommusic. I went looking for the Alley a while ago and saw it on page 7! I thought about posting then but thought it might be the final blow, and I was afraid of going down in history as the one who finally killed Sinner’s Alley.

Come on, all, how about a little activity!

Loved the Shakey Bones performance, sluggy. I missed the link but I followed the trail of breadcrumbs left by jym.

I almost reached through my screen to get that good looking lead guitar guy to stop hogging the camera, but he eventually let me get several good peeks at the sluggy bass guy.

Hey! Anyone notice that Crystal Chandelier in the middle of the dorm room*? That must be one of the upgrades. When they’re finished with it, think we can have it over here to class up the Alley?

*If I were the bill-paying parents, I’d be asking how much of a discount I could get if they replaced it with a bare light bulb ;).

Marmots: pour me a birthday drink!

Happy Birthday cottonwood!!

Break out the streamers, noisemakers, poppers, confetti, etc.! In addition to the ever-present peanuts.

Many happy returns of the day, cottonwood! The jukebox is now playing your song, and you get to sit in the massage chair for as long as you want.

And when cottonwood is done with that massage chair, I’ll take a turn. DS is having an existential crisis with his major. Oy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COTTONWOOD!!!

((((sounds of those unfurling blow-into-them party noisemakers))))

happy b’day! We all went to an afternoon matinee for the movie “Mama Mia” today… other than the fact that no one realized Pierce Brosnan can’t sing, it was great fun. We were the only ones left in the theater when they were playing the credits… (“Thank you for the Music”) is playing in the background. Both D’s and I were singing at the top of our lungs. H and d1’s BF were rolling their eyes!!!
