Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

lol, hockeymom. Good one.

Ok, I am procrastinating going to the office!.. I am working in DH office and since it is cheap labor(free) he can just chill till I have had enough coffee to deal with being in his office.

slugg, we are all waiting for the Disney story, the anticipation is killing me!! and I know I will need entertainment this afternoon.

Vacuuming, as exercise!! now that is a really good attitude. I need a new vacuum, any suggestions? maybe I would like it better if it didn't spit the dirt back out of the hose ( the electrical tape is not holding anymore)

We are having a lovely January thaw here! The sun is shining! I went to a low-impact aerobics class this morning!

Life is good.

Vacuums--I like my Miele, but it's probably 10 years old and there are other HEPA vacuums out now.

pulling my peeps up from page 4.

it's a long, long way to 12,000.

I guess we may have to wait for the groundhog's day or love day posts to put us over.

sybbie, 12,000 it is not that far, if we are talking about the number of posts in the Alley not the Dow ;) Just like bidding accelerates in the final minutes of a hot auction, the posting will accelerate the closer we get to the magic number.

Watched something on ebay today - it sold for a thousand bucks (a work-related item). There is an identical one available, "buy now" price is $900. Nope, no takers. Buying something does not feel as exciting as winning a bidding contest.

Just sitting here waiting out a winter snow/ice/sleet storm. No school today, probably no school tomorrow. And all the fun things in my life have been cancelled.

Maybe I'll put some rum in my hot tea.

D's car was stolen at school this past weekend. Baltimore is officially on my crap cities list, along with Needles, CA.

Glad we knocked them out of the playoffs. Baltimore, not Needles.

Oh, m&s. That stinks. Officially.

Agree, m&s -- actually, it more than stinks, but since we're in "civilized" company here ...

So, here we go again with the snow, sleet, & freezing rain! S is always happy with a snow day, but enough already!!! Anyone up for Beach Party here in the Alley? Maybe we can fool ourselves into thinking it's warm and sunny. I'll have something tropical with an umbrella stuck in it.

Thanks CBBBlinker for the best winter storm suggestion yet:

Stop wallowing in our hot tea and pour a pitcher of Strawberry Daquaris or however that is spelled. (it doesn't look right no matter what I do)....
Something requiring umbrellas, in any case!

And put some reggae on that box, mon!

Just the thought of that relaxed 2-chord beat has me smiling. :)

I actually bought a batch of drink umbrellas not too long ago. Odd, because I do not have ANY need for same. So, her y'all go! Umbrellas all around! Whether in your rum punch or your spiked hot chocolate.

Not trying to wallow, but we're on day 3 of this snow/ice storm and I'm tired of everything being cancelled. Last night the information was a 90-min. delay on school, so my son went out to wait for the bus this morning.

Guess what? Cancelled! I hate it when they change their minds overnight.

I did manage to salvage a rehearsal, however. The roads weren't THAT bad. And we had tea and cake after! :)

Page 5????????????

Finally chipped the ice off my walk today. High 40s here by Sunday. Some buds on the trees.

We may have a future after all.

How 'bout dem Stillers a'nat?? WooHoo!!!

D's car was found, but has been in at least one accident, maybe more. Likely to be written off as totaled.

Reality Bites.

m&sdad--too bad about the car. Ouch.

I didn't care in the least about the Big Game, except for watching better than average commercials & an excuse to eat buffalo wings IN FRONT OF THE TV. (We never eat in front of the TV.) :D The wings were mighty good, too.

It was a good game, actually. Exciting, not one-sided, and no one was seriously hurt.

Hey it's Tuesday -- it must be time for another snowstorm!!!! After all, it's been an entire week. This is great, though -- a light coating of snow on our skating rink of a driveway is sure to put some zip and zing in our day!

My brother in law in NH posted a photo showing how he deals with the constant snow, ice, & below-freezing temps...his entire deck is a beer cooler! (In case of a really large party, the entire yard can be pressed into service...heck, the entire state!)

Seems like a great system. :D

We got the dusting and a light snowfall as we speak. Sounds just right for the Super Bowl victory parade downtown today!

I'll be there, but watching from the warmth of an office tower near the parade's end.

Could those of you with extra snow start packing it up and sending it to California? We're in the midst of a drought that just getting worse as this winter wears on. Maybe the marmosets could be used as pack animals? Or kids traveling to and from their respective colleges could bring an extra suitcase to fill with snow (if we get them to do the laundry while their at school).

oaklandmom--you are welcome to as much of our snow as you can carry! Or ship (packed in dry ice, of course!)

This afternoon we had "snow showers" turn into a blizzard. A literal blizzard where you can't see anything. It dropped about 8 inches on top of the snow/ice layers already on the ground. I'm glad I was already home...some people spent hours on the interstate.

No school tomorrow. I hope the library's open...I'm out of reading material.

Hi Oakland Mom! I agree, it is much too dry here. We need rain (and snow in the mountains).
