Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

Oh, joy of joys! I just used the handy facebook link!! CC went all modern-y while I was away. :D

I know! Let’s open the door and throw rolled up cocktail napkins at pedestrians. Consider it exercise. SluggyBeast just finished cooking school in Manhattan, and SluggyGirl just started (Chem) grad school at the Univ of Copenhagen. Here’s how I say it in Danish: Universit

:::tink:::tink:::tink:::: Public health announcement! Through November, the hot tub will be filled with Purell for those who are too afraid to go get a flu shot.

Is SA out of business??? Hellooooo??? There’s an echo in here.

HIYA sluggy!!! Welcome home!

Welcome back sluggy! It’s always more fun when you’re here!

And it’s always been SA Happy Hour, hasn’t it? And we’ve always been at war with Eastasia…

My FB app doesn’t work. I’m not getting email notifications of new posts either, so nothing surprises me. Grump.

We come here to drown our sorrows as well as celebrate…

Raising a glass in memory of Patrick Swayze.

I did 24 quarts of Italian and Brooks prunes yesterday and another 4 quarts today. DW is now doing 2 quarts of Presidential Plums today for a fruit spread.

Anybody has a drink recipe for prune juice :)

I think that the only (semi) appropriate responses to all the PRUNES above (and, ahem, below) are:

holy sh#t

and

are you shi##ing me?

mafool…hahahahahahah!!!

on another note…mantori.suzuki offered up wife’s recipe (see Nice Drink Recipe thread–sorry, not techie enough to link it) …it was suggested he head over to SA…and he hadn’t heard of it! Go Figure!
After 817 pages!
Hopefully he (and Swimcatsmom) mosey over here…without Debbie Downer :)

I’ve had many mascara streaming moments here…thanks to all!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/780507-nice-drink-recipe.html</a></p>

Read this ^^^ thread and had to RUN over here! It was a nice drink recipe but then the thread broke down into a brawl about the non health benefits of drinking, egads! My drinking is the only thing that has allowed me to maintain my sanity through these years.

On the plus side, some kind soul did mention that tequila is practically a vegetable.

I’ll have a shot, barkeep. Make it two!

And a round for the bar!

And a rag, please, to clean up my neck, it’s still orange from the cheetos necklace that I got back on page 717.

Yep…had to head over for a shot myself…

GosSon and friends (HS senior boys!) thought they’d be funny and take school pictures wearing a pair of nerdy glasses. Dean of Discipline (who GosSon claims is sorely lacking a sense of humor) slapped them with 2 days of detention, because of 1) General Insubordination and 2) Alteration of School records! (His words, not mine).

I almost choked to death, trying not to laugh when talking with Dean. Please, Please, Please God, let this be GosSon’s worst transgression this year!

I soooo want to fast forward 15 years when this Dean (who has four under the age of 5)
has a houseful of teenagers…

1 part heavy syrup of prunes
1 part half-and-half cream
1 part sweet Port
1 part inexpensive booze (bourbon, vodka, rye)

(its too sweet for me, but its all I got) and kinda pinkish.

“Got Pink”

Portie Poo?

It was suggested that I come over here and share this drink recipe my wife made up a couple of nights ago:

1 part coconut milk
1 part grapefruit juice
a few pieces of Mandarin orange
1 part gin
3 parts tonic water

Shake with ice and enjoy.

This looks like a cool place. Mind if I hang out?

pull up an orange naugahyde chair! Help yourself to the cheetos.

Real Cheetos? Ooh, this place is classy!

You have NO idea! Wait til you see the marmots.

Starting decorating for the holidays. Someone has to carry on the tradition. Who will tell the stories of mute and stumbling teenage boys? Of wildly confident and mom-disdaining daughters? Of soldier boys and navy boys? Of arty girls and drumming boys? And who will come in late at night with an inexplicable cry of distress? Early in the morning with a funny story? Or not. Your choice. It worked for us…Anyone going to Burning Man?
