Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

mantori, will you please order one of the duck farts for me? i can’t bring myself to actually say that out loud. And DH will definitely have the Trojan Horse.

For crying out loud…our 'SC flag is still outside…bring it in! It’ll remind our UCLA neighbor to give us hard time…

What a riot, Mantori! Wherever do you get these? Duck Fart?!? Amazing!

Is it Friday yet? I need a break. So tired of disinfecting around here (two kids home sick w/flu) and I smell like Lysol…

That’s the pits, lilmom! I remember when my kids were toddlers they were both sick (at both ends) for days and my H was in Singapore on a business trip. He called from the airport to say he’d be home in about an hour. Yes, my knight on his white horse coming to the rescue. However when I met him in the driveway, smelling terrible and in sweats I had worn the day before, I’ll never forget the look on his face. Oh, well. Hang in there lilmom.
(Happy Hr. suggestion: Sometimes it helps to take 2 nips of NyQuil yourself for every one you administer to the kids!)

I am reminded of something Phyllis Diller used to say. “Before my husband comes home I spray Lysol behind my ears and he thinks I’ve been cleaning all day.” :D

ditto; is it Friday yet? not having the best week; you’re only as happy as your least happy child; well, they’re taking turns this week…

the latest: algebra II teacher gives test today…without calculators; no warning…oh well…

good news: White cosmos at Bonefish Grill…be there or be square…doesn’t take much to make me happy…

rodney, what is a white cosmo?

Champagne all around! I just got promoted to project manager at my civil/structural engineering firm, right after the fourth round of layoffs this year. (We’ve been hit very hard by the recession and the crash in the construction industry.) I have to attend a series of four project manager in-house training courses starting in January and continuing through February, and I’m one of two from my department to be nominated for this honor this year by the powers-that-be, so I can do my work without waiting for the other shoe to drop for AT LEAST four more months!

(My dad asked how much my raise was. HA!)

Cheers for employment! clink

Congratulations, aibarr!

clink

In honor of your “raise”, I’m buying this round. :)

aibarr!!! How wonderful for you! Another round on me!

aibarr, sending congratulations from a quarantined household!

can i have exactly $106.00 worth of duck farts please!!!

and now for the reason:
just submitted the css profile to son’s schools saying bad words the whole time. a total waste of time, another chance of personal data being misused and seen by people who really dont need to see it at this point. I wouldnt have a problem if they required the css only if you have enrolled but doing it at this point when we know we wont qualify for need based aid just irks me. almost didnt do it, but one school says they require it no matter what, even for merit, so if doing it for one might as well do all at once.

Well DD thinks she will transfer!!! ( damn, knew should not have bought all those t-shirts) 3 Duck farts please. DS just off crutches, 9 weeks…only 18 sessions of physical therapy to go.

So after four and a half years and nearly a half-million views, I thought I’d check out the last page of Sinner’s Alley to see what main topic has evolved. And it’s duck farts. Geez. I think I’ll wander back to the Parents Forum, where I belong. :)

Ducks go after Stanford at 12:41. TODAY NOV 7.

btw, Froggy and The Sesame Street crew, 40th year on TV.

Has anyone discovered if Frogs do it the water or out of the water?

Happy Anniversary to Sesame Street! Makes me feel old…it came out after I was too old for it, and I remember watching with my kids…ages ago…

I’m buying a round in thankfulness here–just heard from S who lives in NYC with his fiancee (wedding in 2 mos.) There was a FIRE in the basement of their building this morning! They are fine, their possessions are fine (just a little smoky) and no one was hurt.

Let’s hear it for the NYFD, who got there in minutes. :)

Webfeeters, lost 1, win 1, in Bay Area.

Ducks lost a Stanford in a hard fought game.
Beavers win at Berkeley, in a good game.

How come Sesame Street never had ducks or beavers? Chickens and pigs.

There was Ernie’s ‘Rubber Duckie’!!

Great day today, DH won three bottles of wine at a fundraiser. I’m celebrating, received an FYI email from a university admissions office that they received his app. I didn’t know he was applying there. Love it!
