Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

And Monday is Robert Burns’ birthday so I’ll have a Scotch.

Beats having haggis.

Wow, I’ve hardly watched football all season but I watched the Saints play the Vikings. What an exciting game!

Drinking a daiquiri on Bourbon Street for the Who Dat nation, and then having myself a birthday cosmo. Good night, Sinner’s Alley!

Happy Birthday, aibarr, and many happy returns of the day!

yes – D in NOLA is very excited about the Saints. Just what the city needed – something else to go wild about in February!

Happy computer moves, birthdays and CELEBRATIONS IN NOLA ( hi ivoryk!) Older s is going to visit younger s for mardi gras. If the saints win it all, thats gonna be one wild town!

I don’t have a horse in the Super Bowl race, nor do I care about football in any case, but I’m going to root for the Saints for sure.

What do they drink? Hurricanes?

Actually, cafe au lait and beignets sounds better up here in the freezing Midwest.

Bump.

Here’s a toast to seeing the sun in the sky for TWO DAYS IN A ROW!

:)      :)

mommusic, loving the sun, too! It’s making me want to run to the nursery to buy flowers and work in the yard this weekend!

Plenty of sunshine here in HI today (and the locals call it cloudy ??). H and I are on our “manolo” vacation (ie a mini-vacation that costs the same $$ as two pairs of said designer shoes :D) Maitais to everyone in the Alley!

BB–I’m insanely jealous. I’m also jealous of my friend who went to New Orleans for the weekend.

At least we are getting sunshine here. Brisk, cold sunshine.

How about a toast to the new Miss America? She’s a Virginia gal, like me! :)

Her name is pretty porn-star-ish. Caressa? Really? But what the hey, cheers.

If THAT doesn’t deserve a round in the alley, I don’t know what does. Cheers!

[Without groundhogs, Alaska to celebrate Marmot Day - washingtonpost.com](http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/01/AR2010020101978.html)

a round of Pink Squirells for all…in honor of Marmot Day!
Pink Squirrel:
1 oz Creme de Noyaux Liqueur
1 tbsp White Creme de Cacao Liqueur
1 tbsp Light Cream

I couldn’t get the Post article to open. But I am highly in favor of Marmots!

I’m here to cry in my beer. Whatta ya got for someone with a heat pump that went out AGAIN? And how about something really nasty for the company that repeated fails to diagnose or permanently fix said heat pump?

We have electric heat so there IS heat while the pump is down, it’s just $%#@&ing expensive.

Fortunately, the heat pump is under extended warranty. But only for the next 5 months. I think the repair guys are in cahoots to ride it out. :D

mommusic, I’m buying you a can of Steel Reserve, if you’re willing to go that low to drown your sorrows.

You see, I resolved not to have any beer for two weeks as a cost-cutting measure. Well, the two weeks are up today, and my wife has informed me that she picked up some Steel Reserve, the only canned beer she’ll touch.

So I’m off to have a cold one at home! Cheers, fellow citizens of the Earth!

Cheers! And thanks but I’ll spring for a Sam Adams dark. The heat pump problem turned out to be a dead breaker problem. Did you know if they get tripped too many times they plumb give up?

So…the electrician replaced the breaker, and while I was home waiting for all these experts, I got a lot of work done on a wall hanging I’ve been trying to finish.

And I’m glad I restrained my language in talking to the furnace people, cause it really wasn’t their fault.

Page 5! Just watched the last few minutes of the Super Bowl. That’s all I can handle - and this time I wasn’t disappointed. But…we’ve got lots of food leftover because our kids decided to hang out with their friends this time…I’m not ready to be an empty nester!!!
I think I’ll have that beer now.

The Super Bowl was satisfying for me as well. :)

And I got my annual Buffalo Wings. :)

Bump…

We have a lot of snow here. An awful lot. So tired of shoveling…

Anybody have any good snow stories? I’ll sit back in the Naugahyde booth with my hot chocolate and peanuts and listen.
