Sinner's Alley Happy Hour (Part 1)

oh good, the marmots can multitask - check on DS and cure his senioritis while they’re in Pasadena. If the marmots don’t get back to me, its ok, I’ll send my border collie to check on DS, after she reports on what he’s up to she can herd the marmots back to SA.

oaklandmom–Sounds like a plan! :D

This place is hoppin’! It gets like this every year around this time…

It’s almost Friday! Can’t wait for the weekend - it’s been a crazy week.

Another '10er here…
Can the marmots remind my S with major senioritis that this MIDTERM break is NOT his Senior trip week???

Anyone want to be adventurous and try this new Hurricane beer with me? The can says “High Gravity Lager”, so please, no joking around. This is serious. Gravely serious.

I don’t know mantori. I’m sticking to my Fat Tire. Believe me, I need a drink NOW! I’m having a dinner party and DH calls to say he’ll be a little late and someone dropping off things I need for the party isn’t here yet! Geez, work with me people!

not trying it mantori! gravity is my butt’s and “upper parts” worst enemy

parent56: Today Garrison Keillor on Prairie Home Companion did a very funny bit on why you should have a low center of gravity for stability in the winter. :)

Think I’ll sit in the hot tub for a while. It’s been a busy weekend but DH got the taxes done so that’s good! He spiked his hot tea with actual rum to help his frame of mind. :D

A round of drinks on me! The very best!

SIL successfully defended his doctoral thesis today. We’re going to have a doctor in the family. OK, a Ph.D.

It’s been a long slog, capped by a furious writing pace for the last 2 1/2 months. Whew!

Alright, mommusic and SILmusic!!! Marmots, the best bubbly we have !!! Cheers!

mommusic, congrats!

Yeah, we’re joking that now he can support our daughter & grandchild in the style to which they will become accustomed. Once he gets a job, that is.

Hey, mommusic, to all present and future Ph.D.'s ! Cheers!

I have some braggin’ to do - our youngest scientist-to-be just got a summer research position, stipend and all! Her summer plans are now defined. :)

Hurray for the PhD and the summer research! :)

Waaah! DH set up my new computer and I can’t find anything!

This is going to be annoying for a few days. Maybe it will keep me off the computer. :D

Geese are GONE to points north, as of March 19. About 5-10 days earlier than normal.

Heading out for margaritas! I just spent the last 7 hours assembling the new deck furniture. D’12 helped a lot and S’10 helped a little. They don’t get margaritas, though. :p

LongPrime, the geese seemed to make a brief appearance in our backyard pond this year, too. I never saw them, just heard their honking :). My youngest is an avid birder and looks for them every year. She saw them for only a few days!

musicmom and bunsenburner - congratulations! I hope I’ll be sharing good news like that in a few years!

Those poor geese. When they get here they will find SNOW! (It was 70 degrees last week.)

I guess I should ask the marmots for something strong and HOT! Daylight Savings time and snow…

Thought I’d get us back on p.1 by relaying an order from BlessedTwice over in the Class of '10 thread:

“Pass me a margarita. And chips and salsa. And some chocolate. And some ice cream…”

Thanks. ;)
