I have been looking into Columbia's international relations program, but can't get a good understanding for what it is. Is it a five year program after undergrad or 4 years of undergrad and then 1 year for the masters? These may be dumb questions, but I can't find any info on the program. Any insight would be amazing.

Basically, it's 3 years of undergrad, in which you have to complete a major or concentration (with the exception of one or two courses) and all of the Core (including language requirements) and take a course in economics. Your fourth year, most of your courses are from the School of International and Public Affairs, but you can take a few credits in the College to finish up your major if you need to. After that, you spend another year in SIPA, and you're done; you have a BA and an MIA.

thank you so much for the help. can a person transfer to this program from another university?

It says that you have to take at least four semesters at Columbia by the end of your junior year to be eligible for it- you could transfer in after your freshman year, but not after your sophomore year.
