When I submitted my SIR, I was never asked to pay $100. I've checked the "Bills and Payment Balances" page but it says my current balance is $0 and there are no fees that I need to pay. Also a few of my friends have received letters with information about the writing placement test, but it has been a week and I still have not received mine. Anyone in the same situation and anyone with any suggestions for what I can do?

if u didn't get that writing test thing, that must mean you scored a 680 or higher on the writing section on the SAT. YOU DON'T NEED TO TAKE THE TEST :]]]]

Haha unfortunately I didn't meet any of the requirements to skip the test.

Hang on for a little bit longer, your letter is coming.

If not you could always take a 3-unit class at CC. Free A for you

my friend said she had that problem too -- they never asked for the $100 deposit.

i didnt need to pay the 100$,
i called UCSD and they said if you were never asked to. you dont need to pay!

something to do with low income and financial aid

I wasn't asked to pay the $100 either. I was a bit surprised since I submitted my SIR the same day I made corrections to my FAFSA. The change made a significant change to my EFC. I didn't think UCSD would have known the changes I made that quickly though. Overall, I'm happy I don't have to pay :)
