SIR Questions

OK I've been to a few threads, and not only me, but others too seem to have questions about the SIR process. I'll answer right now that if you got waitlisted to a college you want to go to, opt in for the waitlist....but in the meantime, since the deadline to send in your SIR is June 1, send in your SIR anyway to the college you DID get accepted to so you don't run into any problems. You can always withdraw your SIR but you can't get the $100 deposit back. That's the only sacrifice. If you end up getting admitted from the waitlist, you can withdraw your SIR from that college you sent it to and resend it to the one you just got admitted to....

BUT ANYWAYS for my question

Once you SIR a college (one that you're probably gonna withdraw SIR from for a college if admitted from waitlist) what other steps should someone take? I just filled out my SLR and submitted that....but should we fill out housing? I'm not too sure... probably not right? I don't know.

bumpity bump

same position as you… what school you waiting to hear from and where did you SIR to? GL and hope you get in off the waitlist!

I’m not waiting to hear from any school anymore. I’ve gotten all my responses back – but what I’m waiting for (in June-July) is the admission decision from the waitlist. I waitlisted UC Irvine, and UC San Diego. I sent in my SIR to UC Davis though. Thanks, and good luck to you too!

Anyways, I’m still wondering. After you submit your SIR to a college but you’re waiting for other waitlisted colleges, what other steps do you take? Do you fill out the housing application?

Yes fill out the housing application. Just pretend you’ll be attending Davis for now.
