So this is for the people who want to change their minds about their SIR, submit 2 just to so as to work out details a little longer and are in the appeal process.

I emailed admissions and this is what I got back:

Hello *******,

Yes, we can withdraw your SIR. If you would like to do this, please send an email with the following information:

Full Name:
Date of Birth:
City of Birth:
Statement CLEARLY requesting to withdraw your SIR to UCLA:

Please note that the SIR $100 deposit is non-refundable.

You can submit an SIR to another UC when you send your withdrawal request. Technically, you can have 2 SIRs at 2 different UC's, if only for a few days. You need to avoid this situation and try to submit your withdrawal as soon as you are sure of your decision.

Sincerely,

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions & Relations with Schools

There you have it. From admissions themselves. Just remember to submit by June 1 or this won't even matter.
