Sisters given any preference?

I'm brand new to this prep section so please forgive me if this question has been answered a million times. Are siblings of current prep school students given any priority at the same school?

My 9th daughter is applying now for tenth grade next year (SSAT 93%, SAT essay "12" at age 13, PSAT 180, Stanford EPGY classes all "A"s, Johns Hopkins CTY with Distinction, National Home-School Honor Society, second year German Oklahoma State Univ., currently getting an "A" in AP US history).

If she gets admitted to the schools of her choice, her 12 year old sister would like to join her in a year and a half (1900 SAT - SSAT not taken yet, Johns Hopkins CTY "State Award" two years in a row, blazing fast sprinter).

Would my younger daughter get any points for having a sister already in the school?

Yes, that's considered a legacy.

does it help if your moms best friend/cousin has 2 children who attended the school your applying to? maybe a little? no?

In general, independent schools give preference to siblings.
h-o-p-e-f-u-l -- I have no idea. If your mom's best friends knows anyone in Admissions, she should put in a good word for you. Did she submit a letter recommending you? If it's a great recommendation, it couldn't hurt.

well actually i'll wait and see what I got on my ssat re-take before any recommending is done. lol. thanks anyway

lol. having your mother's friend's kid go to a school does not help in admissions. why should you have any sort of advantage because your mother happens to know someone who sent a kid to some school? that doesn't make any sense.

i think that that's very machiavellian.

were also semi-related (second cousins,i think)-oh well
