Visiting my brothers alma matter tomorrow, Boston College. His old professor invited me to sit in on a class.
Should I bring anything? Don't know if I should bring like a notebook and pen or something like that.

If it’s a class you’re interested in more generally, then you might want to bring a notebook and a pen. If the professor assigned readings, you might want to skim them even if you don’t have the prerequisite knowledge, just to get an idea of what they’re talking about. But when you sit in on classes, professors don’t expect you to speak or know what’s going on - it’s just to get an idea of what a college class there is like, so you don’t have to bring anything.

@juillet I believe its an accounting class, which is my intended major, so i think I will bring a notebook and pen! Just wasn’t sure if that was like a normal thing to do. Thanks for the advice!!

My D sat in on a few classes when visiting a college – she didn’t bring anything and it was fine. If bringing a pad and pen makes you feel better that is OK as well… I would focus on absorbing as much you can regarding the atmosphere, the teachers, the students, the student-teacher interactions etc. rather the class material. Don’t start taking notes for a class you are not in. I would be sure you get the professor’s email so you can send him a thank you note. Enjoy the day.
